This time the challenge is Travel.
I made a card for a friend that is going to Africa...hence the elephant and I used alcohol inks for the background.!!!

Selfies!

Alex thinks it hilarious to take photos of himself with my camera!!!!!!!!  They don't always come out that good....but these I just had to scrap!!!!!!!!

 

I used the sketch from Sketchabilities......although I love their sketches I don't always have photos that are suitable...this time I did!!!

I made the circle from cord and then also used my 'chicken wire' stamp (pristine condition!!!LOL)  I do find it difficult to stamp on layouts.....

Pizza!!

Alex goes to Waitrose cookery classes occasionally and then he cooks at home too!!  He fancied making pizza.....so made a shopping list for Sharon.....and then made it from scratch!!  The family voted it excellent!!!!!!!

Kindle

Sharon and Lee bought me a Kindle for my birthday......and although I have downloaded loads of books (very easy as they go straight to the Kindle and I don't have to do anything!)......I have yet to figure out how to work it!!!!! LOL
So thought I would scrap this!!!!!!!!

 

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.....(love this name!!!!!!!!)......had a sketch challenge (15th March)...and I do love a sketch!!

 

I didn't do too bad with it...actually used a 'real' doiley for the circle bit!!

The challenge over at Challenge YOUrself was 'KEEP CALM and'.......which was very suitable for this photo!!!!!!!!!! So KEEP CALM and PERSEVERE it was!! LOL

The main criteria here is that the layout must have a photo of YOU!!

I have just found this blog and I loved the challenge!!

Scrapology

This month's scraplift is one from Sandra Dry DT.....and they always do a sketch!!

This is the sketch....and the added criteria was 'Use Your Stash'!!

 

This is my layout....

 

This was a messy one.....I used a bubble mask and texture paste for the background....after I cut the middle for the photo and rolled the edges!!!  Then out came the paints and glimmer mist!!  So I used stash that doesn't come out very often though I have loads of paints/mists/masks!!!!  Quite pleased with the result!!

Craft-room Challenge

The challenge is 20th Century!  Lots of things happened during the century but I think one of the biggest things to impact on many peoples lives and to shape our world as it is now was World War Two.
My Father was one of 10 children and my layout for this challenge shows 7 of them that fought in the war! The eldest was 35 and the youngest only 17!!  We were lucky that they all came back...but lots didn't!  The badge is one of my Dad's....he was in the Royal Artillery.

'Sonshine'

I am having lots of trouble photographing layouts when colour matters!!! The papers on this layout of Nicholas are yellow and green and the flowers are green!!
Sharon is way behind with her scrapping so I have done this layout for her for Nicholas album....hence the title!!!

 

I am entering this into the challenge at Black with Two and the criteria was....

...I just hope that they won't mind that I spelt sunshine wrong!!

I am also entering it in the challenge at Show Us Your Stuff who had a mood board too....

The added criteria is a handmade item.  The monogram 'N' is chipboard and I covered it with the paper from under the photo and distressed it.

Black With Two have teamed up with the Scrapbooking Hut so I will also enter it there!!! Their challenge closes on 14th April.

Creative Embellishments - March

This month the challenge is an inspirational picture and a sketch!

 

Loved both of them....here is my layout....

 

For some reason I had lots of problems photographing this to get the colours right...and I am still not totally happy....in the end Sharon took the photo at her house and it came out a bit better!!

I went with the pinks/mauves/grey from the colour palette and added fairies, butterfly, flowers and lots of layers (and distressing) behind the photo!  I love the layout....just wish the photo looked like the layout!! LOL

Archi-scraps and CSI Case File CC-1

Archi-scraps are doing a joint challenge this month with CSI.
I still am not sure if I am doing them correctly but here is my layout that hopefully I have combined the two challenges!!

Another official school photo...this time Nicholas!!

 

Archi-scraps have an inspirational photo and the added criteria is to add stripes.

 

All the colours are there and the stripes are across the bottom and also on the left side!

I used all the colours from the SCENE, The EVIDENCE is stripes and decorative border (all the feet!), and the TESTIMONY are the VISUWORDS to do with school on the right.

CSI Case File 112

I have never done these challenges before...although I have looked at them!!!  I thought  would give this one a go, but whether I have done it correctly is another matter!!  LOL

My layout of Nicholas at the school swimming gala.

 

This is the file....

I used all the colours from the SCENE and the EVIDENCE was patterned background and buttons. I wasn't sure about the TESTIMONY but in the bottom right cluster it lists the benefits of swimming so hope this comes under VISUWORDS!!
