Back to School

Back to School layouts are popular at the moment with school about to start after the holidays....can't do one yet as they haven't gone back but I am still trying to catch up with old photos!!  So this is one of Cassie starting in the Nursery Class in 2012.

 

I am entering the challenges at Lasting Memories and Red Carpet Studio which both require 'Back to School' as the topic.

Lasting Memories criteria is to use Alphas and Numbers both of which are on this layout.

Red Carpet Studio challenge is based on the film Billy Madison which follows a man who has grown up in the life of luxury without any responsibilities. In his quest to go back to school he earns his diploma without any help from rich relatives.

St. Peter's Church

This layout is all about the church that I attended when I lived in London.  My parents were married there, I was Christened, was in the choir, taught Sunday school and was also married there!!!

 

I used the sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories - 84 .

  

I was quite good...although I didn't actually have a title and my journalling is on the opposite side!!!  I used a lot of rub-ons which I seem to buy/save and never use!!!

I love the sketches at GrandDiva's Creative Corner even if I don't always do them in time!!!  This time I have!!!

I did also do a line from Rochelle's TicTacToe.....1 Photo, Dry embossing and Pearls)...... but then realized that you can only have one entry and I have already entered!!!!!!!! Duh!!!!!

By the Sea

The theme at S J Crafts this month is Holidays/Travel and to use something old and something new from your stash!!

This is my layout.....

 

This photo was taken last year when the weather wasn't too brilliant!!!!!  But we are British so will enjoy ourselves regardless!!!  LOL

The 6x6 papers were new and everything else was old...some I think was positively ancient....especially the rub-on lighthouse!!!

Icecream time!!

As soon as I saw the mood board at Sassy Scrappers I knew the photo I wanted to scrap!!!  I loved the sketch at Paper Secrets so combined the two!!!!

This is my layout....the photo was taken a couple of weeks ago on our caravan holiday at Gt. Yarmouth.

The cornet was the main inspiration (!) together with the pinks and pale green/blue colours.

The sketch at Paper Secrets was super and just the thing and the added criteria is to add items that begin with the letters S-W-I-M.

Did quite well keeping to the sketch too!!

S - Stripe paper and Sun bingo card.

W - White alphas and White arrow.

I - Ink edges of papers and Icecream embellishment.

M - My Minds Eye papers, photo Matted, Microbeads for icecream cornet!

Both challenges end at the end of the month so lots of time to enter!!

Bronze Award

These photos of Nicholas getting his Bronze Award were ideal for Friday 8th Aug sketch at ScrapMuch? and also for Rochelle Spears August TicTacToe challenge.

 

This was the sketch.....

....and I was quite good keeping to it!!!!!!!!!!  LOL

I picked the centre line......I embossed the tags and bunting with a Sizzix clock folder, the circle is the rosette and the chevon patterned paper is obvious!!

Two super challenges which both end on the 29th August.....so lots of time to enter!!

Mum

This layout of my Mum is all about the fact that she used to be a dress machinist and I have journalled around the edges the story.

The inspiration was from the mood board at Scrap Around the World.......

 

....I obviously used the cotton reels for inspiration and also the brooch on the headdress I used the bling down the side.

WANTED poster!!!!

The sketch challenge at Me and Mine reminded me of the wanted poster frames that I bought eons ago and thought was a good time to use them with school photos of the boys!!!  I am not too good with 'white space' but was quite pleased with this layout!
